Prior to 1914 he served in the Metropolitan Police and his home address: 177 High Street, Peckham, London. 28/2/1916 FGCM for drunkenness and absence, awarded 28 days field punishment No.2. Transferred to MMP 26/4/1906. Found in documents: Sobriety Certificate. I believe that No. 674 L/Cpl B Alderson MMP is thoroughly trustworthy, and to the best of my belief he has never been under the influence of liquor during the last eight years of his Army Service, which expired on 9/2/1907.
