The September issue of the "North Eastern Railway Magazine" announces that the total number of NER employees who have fallen in the war has now reached the high total of 2,036 and states that L/Cpl G W Wlsher, Military Foot Police, formerly a local NER constable has been awarded the meritorious service medal and Sgt j W Teasdale, Military Foot Police has bee awarded the Medaille d'Honneur. He was formerly a detective sergeant in the NER Police Department at Hull.
