Best, A E L/Cpl. Royal Fusiliers. He was serving at the outbreak of war and in 1914 was drafted to the Western Front where he took part in the Retreat from Mons and the Battles of the Marne, the Aisne, La Bassee, Ypres and the Somme and was four times wounded. In May 1919 he was sent to Russia with the Relief Force and served at Archangel until the withdrawal of the expedition. He holds the Mons Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals and was demobilized in December 1919. High Street, Toddington. Dunstable.
