Citation: Lt. John Cameron, Cameron Highlanders. Salonika.For conspiciuos gallantry at Mamelon Vert on the night of 19th-20th September 1918, in command of a successful raiding party. He personally led the party into the trench under accurate bomb fire, killed two of the enemy with his revolver, and by his courage and initiative set a splendid example to those with him
