PRESENTATION TO AN OFFICER.
Second Lieutenant William Cleary, whose parents live at Bolton Road, Westhoughton, has bee presented by his colleagues in "C" Division of the Birmingham City Police with a sword and compass on his promotion to commissioned rank in the Dragoon Guards. Second Lieutenant Cleary, who was formerly employed by the Westhoughton District Council left "C" Division to join the Military Mounted Police in February, 1915, and has served two years in France.
