Lance Corporal Collapses and Dies in Hospital.
Lance Corporal John Lawrence Richardson of the Corps of Military Police was struck on the chest by a cricket ball while wicket keeping during a game between the Corps of Military Police and Aldershot Command Military Police at Aldershot.
He collapsed and died shortly after being taken to Cambridge Military Hospital.
Richardson, a keen cricketer, was 44, and had 27 years military service. He formerly served in the Grenadier Guards.
He was a bachelor, and his home as at Maidstone.
