Smith MFP, states:- At Dublin on the 16th February, 1917, at about 11pm, I was on duty in Dame Street, accompanied by Sgt. J Foster. I met the accused. He was drunk. When arrested he handed me a bottle of whisky, saying, "Take this, Corporal, this will square it, Drink our health," or words to that effect. He was conducted by Sergeant Foster to the Guard Detention Room, Ship Street, and handed over to the Sergeant in Charge. Signed, M Smith, Cpl. MFP. |
