Citation: | North West Europe. 3 Div Pro Coy. BEM Mentioned in PM 1 Corps War Diary WO171/281. Citation for BEM: CQMSgt Banks enlisted into the Royal Navy in 1922 and served until 1929. On the outbreak of the present hostilities he enlisted into the Corps of Military Police (Provost Wing) and was posted to 3rd Division with whom he has served ever since. He has been employed as Ord Room Cpl, Section Sergt and CQMSgt. I have formed a very high opinion of this NCO. His complete devotion to duty, untiring efforts, and cheerful disposition under all circumstances have been and are, an insipiration to the whole company. He is most efficient in all branches of Provost work. The present hightly efficient state of the Pro Coy is, in no small manner dute to his zeal and enterprise. Maj APM 3 Div. Comd 3 Br Div.
