The death occurred at his home, 31 Thetford Road, Brandon on Saturday of Mr Archibald Rolph (73) a retired West Suffolk County Council Roadman, who had previously served in the army for 27 years. Joining the army in 1896, Mr. Rolph served with the 1st and 2nd Suffolk Regiment, the 1st and 4th Norfolk Regiment, the 2nd Garrison Warwickshire Regiment, the Military Mounted Police and Royal Engineers in Malta, Gallipoli (where he was wounded) Egypt, Palestine and France. He was a sergeant in the Home Guard during the last war. THE FUNERAL The funeral took place at St. Peter's Church, Brandon on Tuesday, the Rev. J F Boodle Officiating.
