City Constables War Honour. PC Sharpe of the City Police Force has just received his certificate recording the fact that he was mentioned in despatches during the War. The wording of the certificate which bears the signature of the Secretary of State For War the Right Honourable Winston S Churchill is as follows: "The War of 1914-1918, Military Foot Police P/267, Sgt P Sharpe was mentioned in despatches from General Sir E H H Allenby, GCB, GC, MC, dated 5th March 1919 for gallant and distinguished service in the field. I have it in command from the King to record His Majesty's high appreciation of the service rendered.
