Joined Lincolnshire Constabulary, stationed at Scotter, West Lindsay and lived on the High Street. 10/12/1915 enlisted at Gainsborough, 2/2/1916 mobilized in MMP 21/6/1916 to France, 6/1/1917 compulsory transferred to Gloucestershire Regiment. 8/2/1918 to Wareham, Dorset transferred to Tank Corps, 23/4/1918 appointed 2 class mechanic, 2/5/1918 returned to France. 7/2/1919 to Class Z reserve, address: Rose Cottage, Kirton in Lindsay, Lincolnshire.
