OC 51 (H) Inf Div Pro Coy.Maj R H STURROCK a prominent Perth business man, joined the ranks of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in March 1941, was commissioned into the ranks of the Pioneer Corps in February 1942 and served in South Africa, North Africa, Malta, Sicily, Italy, Austria and Palestine, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1948 he returned to his civil business and, although of an age when most men might reasonably feel that they had done their fair share of voluntary service, Maj SUTRROCK most generously responded to an appeal to join the Territorial Army and was appointed the Command 51st Highland Divisional Provost Company. Maj STURROCK has commanded the Divisional Provost company for the past six years with distinction and success. His outstanding personality and presence are reflected in every aspect of the Company's existence; in the bearing of its men, their exemplary turnout and their high standard of discipline and efficiency, both on training and in the field. Maj STURROCK's enthusiasm, exemplary devotion to duty and his esprit-de-corps in the Territorial Army and in the Highland Division in particular have earned for him and his men the respect, confidence and trust of all ranks in the Division.
