Citation: New Years Honour. 7689939 WO II Thomas Sheridan Cameron, RMP. D & T E RMPnow 17 Gurkha Division Pro Coy, RMP, Malaya.Citation: For many years this Warrant Officer has been an outstanding example, not only of personal efficiency but of devotion to duty, loyalty and zealousness in the cause of his Corps and his fellows. In his regimental appointment which is a complex and very responsible one he has been outstandingly successful due to sheer hard work and selfless devotion to his unit and Corps. Quite voluntarily, and with no thought of reward, he has worked long hours of his leisure time serving the Royal Military Police Association as secretary, treasurer, and also as a committee member of the Royal Military Police Benevolent Fund in addition to being People's Warden of the Corps Chapel. By also serving on a local civilian committee he has done much to foster good relations with the local population. Also again in his free time he works to help ex-members of his Corps, particularly those in need or ill. He pays constant visits to those in hospital or ill at home. His excellent performance of his military duties coupled with his wonderful record of selfless service to others - entailing long hours of work far in excess of what could reasonable be expected of anyone - have been and outstanding example. felt and followed throughout his unit.Recommended by Col. C F Read, OBE, Comdt. D & T E. RMP, GOC Aldershot District, Commanding General Southern Command.
