| Citation: | Bulford, UK. Citation for MBE: Prior to being posted to this Division as DAPM, Major Clark had carried out similar appointments in 6 Armoured and 7 Armoured Divisions. He consequently brought with him to this formation a wealth of specialist experience, much of which was gained during the War years. As a result of this background Major Clark has shown himself to be an exceptional Provost Officer. This has been emphasises in four distinct ways. First, in the high standard which he has invariable set, Second, in hi co-operation with, and indeed instruction of, RAF Provost units on Air transported exercises; here his tact and personality generally have been directly instrumental in helping to maintain the best possible relations with a sister service. third, Major Clark has recently been the Field Force member of a Provost Committee which has been sitting to examine the future scaling's of Provost Units with special reference to Air portable Operations. The recommendations put forward to this committee by Major Clark have been accepted in almost every case. Finally, because of his loyalty and the pride which he takes in his particular duties, Major Clark works far beyond the stipulated routine hours. Frequently he works unassumingly late at night while on many occasions he remains in station at week-ends for the sole purpose of ensuring that Provost matters are adequatly covered. His devotion to duty is exceptional. Major Clark is an officer with limitless enthusiasm for the task in hand and outstanding loyalty. When Major Clark leaves the service in February 1962 both the Army and the Royal Military Police will loose and officer who, over recent years, has rendered outstanding service.Maj-Gen Harington GOC 3 Div.
