Notes:MFP. Awarded the 1915 Star, Victory and War Medals. First served abroad (1) 19/1/1915 to 11/10/1916. Enlisted in the 1 Lincolnshire Regiment. No. 5924, 9/7/01, age 18.1 years, occupation Labourer, born Clarboro, Retford, Nottinghamshire. Transferred to MFP 12/6/17. Served home 9/7/01 to 2/2/03, South Africa 3/2/03 to 2/4/04, Home 3/4/04 to 7/7/09, Army Reserve 8/7/09 to 4/8/14, Home 5/8/14 to 18/1/15, France 19/1/15 to 11/10/16, Home 12/10/16 to 1/7/19 to class Z reserve. Letter in his Army Record dated 6/8/18, Welbeck Camp, Worksop states: He was found to be suffering from Shell Shock and was sent to the Base (Etaples). After being at Etaples for about a fortnight he was invalided home to England. he was admitted to the Middlesex Hospital, Clacton where he remained 5 days and was then transferred to the B.R.C.S Theydon Towers Hospital, Theydon Bois where he remained 28 days. He was then granted 10 days furlough at the end of which he joined 11th Training Reserve Battalion at Brocton, where he appeared before a Travelling Medial board and was categorised Cii (no documentary evidence). After serving with the above Battalion for 6 months he was transferred to the Military Foot Police. PRESENT CONDITION. He still exhibits the effects of Shell Shock, There are fine tremors hesitating speech and some functional tachycardia.
