Extract from the Leeds Intelligencer 12 March 1928. CATTERICK CAMP PERMITS. CONFLICTING VIEWS IN POLICE COURT.
The question as to whether a permit on Catterick Camp covered the whole area of the camp or the lines of one particular regiment was discussed at Richmond Police Court on Saturday. David Jones, a Darlington youth, was summoned for hak8ing fruit without a pass.
Captain Singleton said a pass was needed from each Commanding Officer and he was supported in that view by Corporal Bodimeade, of the Military Mounted Police, who was giving evidence.
Mr5. C W Hunton, the magistrate3s' Clerk, said the Camp by-laws made no such condition. Jones was discharged with a caution.
