Citation: Germany. Contribution to road safety in 110 Pro Coy. 24272243 Corporal (Acting Sergeant) Arthur Thomas Allison, RMP.Citation: Corporal Allison has been this Company's Road Safety and Crime Prevention Officer throughout the period stated. These appointments, in addition to his normal duties, incorporated lecturing and advising all units, sponsored organisations and individual members of the British Forces community throughout the Garrisons of Bielefeld, Paderborn, Guthersloh and Hameln. Corporal Allison has shown outstanding dedication by giving up many hours of his free time to running Road Safety courses for Service schools; including cycling proficiency courses; German Traffic Law lectures to units, wives clubs and as part of Regular Garrison education centre briefings for new arrivals in BAOR. It is noteworthy that during the period Corporal Allison has been responsible for these tasks the number of cases of impaired driving and traffic accidents have reduced significantly in the Company's area of responsibility. Corporal Allison's Crime Prevention advice and lectures have assisted many units and military sponsored organisations to protect property and valuables, and have made school children and civilian members of the Garrison Community far more aware of personal security aspects of life in a military environment in Germany; from the dangers of a young child accepting lifts from strangers to the current terrorist threat. This programme has been further extended to make the British military community far more aware of their responsibilities to maintaining the good name of the Service whilst living in Germany. In addition to these considerable responsibilities, so prodigiously carried out, Corporal Allison has maintained his extremely high standard of work in his regular Provost Duties, especially as a member of the Unit Investigation Element in one of the busiest Provost Companies in BAOR. The invaluable work done by Corporal Allison has brought this Company a host of appreciative letters from all members of the British Forces community and local organisations within the Company's area of responsibility. This Non-Commissioned officer is a totally dedicated individual who exemplifies the estimable traditions of his Corps and The Service throughout his unceasing hard work and devotion to duty. Corporal Allison's outstanding ability, loyalty and achievements during his tour with this Company would be most fittingly recognised by an award.Reommended by. OC 110 Pro Coy. Commander 33 Armd.
