July 75 to Date.Citaton: Since joining 156 Provost Company Royal Military Police in July 1975 23540592 Staff Sergeant Clive Coates as a Platoon Commander and Non Commissioned Officer in charge of training has carried out all his duties in a manner far in excess of those normally expected of a Non Commissioned Officer of his rank. He has acted as Unit Sergeant Major over certain periods with outstanding success and has done his normal duties at the same time working long hours at all times of day and night often driving himself to the limits of his endurance. He has by his personal example drive and untiring devotion to duty enhanced the reputation of the Corps of Royal Military Police and has earned great respect and credit for the Army with both the civil administration and the public. He show great patience and understanding with his subordinates always placing their welfare and advancement before his own interests. With his superiors he has shown tact, initiative and courtesy so as to be held in high esteem by officers of all ranks.
