MBE Award. The members of the Gloucestershire Constabulary will congratulate Police Sergeant W C Baglin of Lydney on his award of the MBE (Military Division) for outstanding services in Italy during the war. A Gloucestershire man, born at Minchinhampton, near Stroud, Sergeant Baglin was stationed many years ago at Tewkesbury. He was recalled to the Army in 1939, and after being with the Artillery at Perranporth, Cornwall, until March 1940, was seconded to the Corps of Military Police, completing his war service with the ranks of Major and the position of Assistant Provost Marshal in Italy. He was demobilised from Trieste in October 1945.
