Decoration Record:
Decoration: Member of the British Empire (London Gazette: 37274 Page: 4673 Sept. 20, 1945)
Citation: Italy. Citation for MBE: Since the capture of ANCONA and during the subsequent build up for Eighth Army operations, throughout very bad winter conditions, the traffic problems have made heavy demands on Provost. And in this area where troops from all parts of the British Empire and Allied Nations are operating to maintain good discipline, with good feeling and a strict check on sabotage and pilfering in the Port and Depots, have called for unremitting energy day and night on the part of the APM. This officer has never spared himself and has set a splendid example to all. On several occasions when carrying out raids against armed bandits, he has shown great courage and resourcefulness.Brig Fullbrook-Leggatt Comd 61 Area. Maj-Gen Heydeman Comd No1 District CMP.
