At Rouen on the 9 May 1917, a pair of run away dray horses were galloping down the road from the camps. As they approached him, No P/2174 L/Cpl Aitken F, MFP sprang forward and seized the bridle of one of the horses, being carried along for a distance of about 200 yards. The Base Commander desires to express his appreciation of the pluck and endeavour of the above named NCO shown in this instance. A record of the above will be made in the Regimental Conduct Sheet of L/Cpl Aitken in accordance with KR para 1919 (XIV). |
