Served Home 22/9/14 to 6/9/16, BEF 7/9/14 to 2/10/15, Med Exp Force & Salonika 28/10/15 to 18/1/19, Home 19/1/19 to 10/2/19 to discharge. 21/2/16 FGCM awarded 2 months FP No.1 for refusing to obey and order, using threatening language to an NCO 1 month was remitted. 12/1/18 to Labour Corps, 1/3/18 transferred to MPSC, 6/12/18 compulsory transfer to Labour Corps. Found in his army record:- extracts from the proceedings of a Field General Court Martial, 18-19/10/18 at Salonika 19 Charges of Stealing money and Property of a Comrade. Pleaded not guilty to all, found guilty of all. Sentence to be reduced to the ranks and 56 day field punishment no 1. Transferred to Labour Corps. Example of 1st Charge: AA. SEc.18 (4a). STEALING MONEY THE PROPERTY OF A COMRADE in that he at Lembet Prison,, Salonika between the 27th May 1918 and 24th June 1918 when entrusted by No. 533196 Corporal Lyne, Labour Corps, with the sum of 105 Drachmas in notes money the property of No. 22/081539 Private Ballinger, F, ASC, a prisoner in the said prison, for the purpose of retaining the same in safe custody, applied for his own use. This is followed by 18 similar charges.
