Son of Mr and Mrs G Sayer, of 12 Alexandra Terrace, Tivoli road, Margate, L/Cpl Edward William Sayer, who was reported missing when Hong Kong was captured, is included in the first official list of prisoners of war received from Japanese sources. Joining the Royal artillery about eight years ago, L/Cpl Sayer was later transferred to the Corps of Military Police and had been serving in Hong Kong for about four years, he is an old boy of Salmestonic School.
