Citation: Citation: For conspicuous gallantry on the 11th August, 1915 at Hooge. After his Officer had been wounded, he, on his own initiative, assumed the command of a bombing party, which , inspired by his courage and example, attacked the enemy, who had reached our left flank and drove them off, inflicting heavy loss on them.
