Citation: Military Medal Citation.North West EuropeDuring the period 1 August 1944 to 17 October 1944 W/Corporal F R Bunting has at all times shown a complete disregard to personal danger. He assisted in the traffic control at BEERINGEN Bridge over the Albert Canal (Belgium) and the lamping and signing of BEERINGEN during consistent enemy shell fire on September 7-8-9 1944. He also on 20-21 September assisted in lamping and signing the Guards Divisional centre line through NIJMEGEN, including the NIJMEGEN BRIDGE, again during consitent enemy shellfire. His work has at all times, even during the most difficult circumstances been carried out extremely well.Recommended for a periodical MM by APM HQ Guards Armoured Division. National Archive WO 373/53.
