From his wife Mollie. Extract from a book "We Remember Dunkirk" memories of Cpl R Blackburn of Newport, Gwent. I patrolled the road south as it was obvious that a heavy battle was going on at Cassell some few miles away. Ambulances would need a clear road. unfortunately no ambulances came through. They were in a convoy which I understand was wiped out by Stukas. I lost Bill Semple on this patrol. He died of wounds in Dover.
