Citation: | North West Europe. Citation for MBE: This Warrant Officer has been RSM of the Provost Company since December 1942. He has, since June 1944, when the Division landed in FRANCE, worked tirelessly and unstintingly and deserves the highest praise for his magnificent example of leadership and efficiency. In the difficult days leading to the breakthrough at CAEN when the Provost Company were called upon to work 24 hours a day bringing up tanks and transport over muddy tracks, RSM Booth was always out amongst his men, checking routes, helping patrols and keeping transport moving over bad country. Even in the most trying circumstances he has always set the highest possible standard of smartness and discipline which has inspired his men beyond measure. In the fast moving days up to the SEINE and the chase through FRANCE and BELGIUM and then into HOLLAND he was always about with the men giving encouragement and advice and getting the Division to its destination. There can be no doubt whatever that the magnificent work which RSM Booth has performed has been, in a very great degree, the direct cause of the high state of operational efficency of the company.
