Rossendae Free Press, Rawtenstall, Lancashire, Saturday, August 1, 1987, MR E BROOKS. The funeral of Mr Ernest Brooks - who died in a motorway accident two weeks ago - took place on Tuesday. Mr Brooks (76) lived in Burnley road, Bacup, and until he retired 16 years ago, was manager of Bacup's District Bank. Mr Brooks' wife, Winnie, who suffered a broken neck in the accident, is recovering in hospital. The funeral was at Burnley Crematorium, preceded by prayers at the chapel of rest, led by the Rev Geoffrey Loxham, Funeral directors: A J Haworth, for Wood's Funeral Service. Bacup. |
