Notes:Oxford & Bucks LI. The above mentioned NCO's on the 28th/30th March, 1918, for thirty six hours continuously, showed great bravery and devotion to duty in taking back into the line before Domart and Fourges, stragglers of several Divisions, scattered by heavy shell fire. Although twice blown over and badly shocked by shells, they stuck to their work, and collecting valuable reinforcements took them back into the line, thus materially assisting by their bravery and untiring energy in saving the serious situation pertaining at the time.
Recommendation for MM by APM 20th Division. No awards found in London Gazette. 6864 L/Sgt Stafford H, Traffic Control Detachment was other NCO Named. Awarded the Victory and War Medals. A Bn of the Ox & Bucks were employed with Provost Branch on TC duties. Their work around Amiens during the bombardment of 1918 will be a lasting memory (History of the Provost Marshal and Corps of Military Police by A V Lovell-Knight, 1942 page 89).
