New baby joy will be tinged with sadness. Lenny Harper is looking forward to becoming a grandad for the second time, on Boxing Day. But his joy at the forthcoming birth is tinged with sadness. His 28 year old daughter Raqual, was widowed just two month ago, when her soldier husband was killed in Iraq. Major Matthew Titchener, 32, was a Royal Military Police officer, who died along side two other officers, when their civilian jeep was ambushed by gunmen,m in Basra. His pregnant Londonderry-born widow is expecting the couple's second child. In a statement issued through the MoD she described him as "a perfect husband, and a brilliant dad". "He was delighted at the thought of being a dad again." she said. " He died doing a job he was proud of and was professional to the end. Major Titchener and his colleagues were training local police officers when they wer killed, on August 23. He was officer commanding 150 Provost Company of the RMP and had previously served in Ulster, Cyprus,m Jordan, Egypt and Canada. "It has been a heartbreaking time." said Lenny. "But Raqual has done a brilliantly considering everything. "She has managed to keep it together for her two year old son, Matheson and it looking forward, as we all are, to the new arrival. "After the Birth the three of them will come to stay with myself and my wife, Christine for a few months. "We had thought we had escaped such tragedies, when we left Northern Ireland.
