Mr T J Chivers, younger son of Mr and Mrs Frank Chivers, of the Crossways, Coleford, has been notified by the War Office that he has been mentioned in despatches for brave conduct in the 1939-45 war. He enlisted at the outbreak of war, and served as a sergeant in Algeria, Tunisia and Italy in the Corps of Military Police. He is now with the Customs and Excise branch of the Civil Service in London.
