Extract from the Folkestone Express, Sandgate, Shorncliffe & Hythe Advertiser 24 August 1901
HYTHE COUNTY BENCH.
Monday - Before F. E. Burke, Esq. (in the chair), and Lieut Col Bynmore.
Annie Palmer and Rose Forman were charged with trespassing on Shorncliffe Camp for improper purposes on the night of August the 20th. Prisoners pleaded not guilty
Serg.-Major White, of the Military Mounted Police, produced a plan of Shorncliffe Camp and a copy of the by-laws relating thereto.
Lance Corporal Wraight, of the Military Police, said he was on duty at Enbrook Field, about 8pm., when he saw the two prisoners with three soldiers. He asked what their business was there and not receiving a satisfactory answer, took them into custody.
Both prisoners gave evidence on oath and denied that they were on the footpath.
The chairman said there seemed to him to be some small doubt in the case. They were old offenders, but they would be dismissed. he cautioned them about coming again.
