Citation: France. Citation for BEM. Sergeant BOTWRIGHT has been employed with the S.I.S. in PARIS during the year 1946. During this period he has carried out some very important enquiries resulting in the apprehension of and ultimate conviction of a number of thieves, forgers and crooks of various types long wanted by the Police. He has also been instrumental in the recovery of large quantities of W.D. property valued at several thousands of pounds. The success of his enquiries has been due to his tact and dillegence. On many of his cases he has worked 18 hours a day. He has carried out enquiries which would normally have been carried out by a very senior civil police officer. He has been held in very high esteem by both French C.I.D. and American Special Agents with whom he has worked and on several occasions been congratulated by Courts for the manner in which he has carried out his enquiries.
