Police Review 1916:It has been officially reported that Lance Corporal Brace of the Military Police has been awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field. We understand that Brace, whilst carrying a wounded officer, was badly hit by shrapnel in the neck, a serious operation being afterwards necessary. This occurred "Somewhere in France" last November. Brace has quite recovered, and is now at Aldershot. The Chief Constable (Portsmouth) has sent a telegram of contratulations to the worthy recipient. Police Review 29/9/1916, page 407.
